Mission Trip To Central Asia
by sandihester
I recently went to Central Asia on a mission trip with our church. We had an amazing time! One of the many things we did there was to minister to some of the lady missionaries in that area. I painted some cards for them before I left to be given away as door prizes. Here’s one of the cards I did for them.
How many are your works, O LORD! In wisdom You made them all; the earth is full of Your creatures. Psalm 104:24
Here is a card I sent to my friend Mary Julia when we got back from our trip. She was one of my roommates on the trip and we laughed our heads off together. One night at dinner while looking out over the sea, Mary Julia thought she spotted a whale (as far as we know there aren’t whales in the sea), it was actually just a large wave she saw, but we all had a great laugh over it!
This is a painting I did while there in Central Asia. It is the view from one of our hotels.
Sandi,
I am so glad you decided to do this. It is wonderful that you are sharing your gift from the Lord with the rest of us!! What fabulous memories came when I looked at the painting above and thought.. “I know that view…!”
Sandi: I am so impressed with the expression of your mission. This is beautiful work. Thank you for sharing with all of us. I feel especially blessed to get to know you, my new “art” friend. I hope you continue in the “newbie” (gail’s word) class for a while longer for my benefit. You will love the people in the advanced class, also. Be sure to get to know my friend, Mary Isenman. She isn’t near as old as me but we worked together a few years ago. She is a “gold” friend of mine.
My prayers for you are many blessings on your work for God.
Sincerely,
Marge 6-25-07
Marge, thank you for the kind words!!! I have LOVED getting to know you too! You are a very special lady and I look forward to getting to know you more. We need to do lunch one day after class.
