Rooftops
by sandihester
When I looked up ‘roof’ in my bible concordance for this post I got a little tickled. There were 2 scriptures listed – both quite different…
Jesus said, “What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the ROOFS.” Matthew 10:27
Women, can you think of what the other verse about the roof is???… Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife. Proverbs 21:9 YIKES!
The reason for the roof scriptures are because I painted several rooftop paintings on our trip since our room was up high and it looked down on the valley. Here’s one I painted that turned out fun. I tried to capture the smoke coming out of the chimneys early in the morning.
Okay …. I’m living vicariously through you right now :). We just returned from Ryan’s Make-A-Wish trip – his wish was to go to Disney World – we had an incredible time but I often found myself wondering who would ever choose to live in Florida. My husband and I had a few talks about that and wondering when we could have our wish trip? We just couldn’t talk Ryan into mountains and snow :). Hope your time is wonderful …… I really do like the rooftops picture.

Thank you Mary Lee! I’m not a huge fan of the snow and cold but my husband LOVES it! We do both love going out west in the fall though – it’s beautiful out there! Thanks for checking out the site Mary Lee!
Love the rooftops picture! So wishing I was there also! I loved hearing Matt 10:27 with that. I have a friend that says she has heard whispers from God after some prayers and meditations with Him (I’ll save the details for when I hopefully see you March 8). I always feel compelled to tell her story, and Matt. explains why. I just wish I could follow through with all that God whispers to me–anything is possible with God, so I’ll just keep praying! I love how you are proclaiming His whispers to you.
YIKES is right on Prov 21!
Angie
Thank you! Yes, anything is possible with the Lord – keep your eyes on Him Angie! I can’t wait to hear what He’s been doing in your life. If you can’t come in March we’ll have to talk by phone to catch up. I hated not seeing at Christmas.
Hello Sandi. My husband & I are good friends of Amanda & Jasons. I just wanted to tell you how much I admire your work! You paint so beautifully and I love the way you use color. Looking at your paintings makes me feel like I’m looking in a window to heaven. The picture-book you did for Aidan touched me so, and the pic you did of Aidan in the snow was amazing. You have been blessed with a wonderful gift from Him. Just wanted you to know! 🙂
Hey Cyndi, I’ve heard Amanda talk about you often. Man alive, thank you for this comment. The bible tells us that all of creation is pointing us to God and His glory and that’s all I want to do with my painting so for you to say that it makes you feel like you’re looking in a window to heaven means a lot! Thank you for taking the time to leave me this encouraging note!
