From Every Tribe
by sandihester
And they sang a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because You were slain, and with Your blood You purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.” Revelation 5:9
This painting definitely flowed from the Spirit – He inspired me – and I’m convinced He painted it. This one seemed to just run off my paint brush onto the paper. I’ll tell you a little bit of where the inspiration started. We have some friends who are missionaries in Africa – way out in the bush – and they post pictures on their blog and send us pictures by e-mail periodically. I am constantly amazed by the pictures they send us – especially during the rainy season in Africa. The grasses there during that season are amazing – they are neon green and very tall. Recently I got a picture from them that made my mouth drop, my spirit soar, and left me running for my paints. I knew immediately which scripture to put with the painting (the above scripture). Below the painting is the picture that inspired me and I have also posted the progress of this painting. For some reason I decided to take pictures as I painted and I thought I would share those with you.
What a joy it’s going to be to stand around the throne of Christ one day with EVERY tribe, language, people, and nation and praise His holy Name for His costly purchase of men. If you do not have a love for the nations or don’t understand God’s love for the nations I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and go on a mission trip. You will never be the same and you will never see your God the same. He, and those He loves, will be forever written upon your heart.
Sandi! This is so moving! I am speachless!
Gail, you are too sweet – such an encourager to me! Love you!
what a gorgeous painting. another one well done!
Thank you Julie!
This is very moving,Sandi. Beautiful and the perfect bible verse to go with it. I’m very impressed with all the verses you have memorized and/or remember enough to go straight to them. I miss you.
Hi Sandi!
Oh I haven’t been on this site in a while! Sheffey and I just got back from Campus Outreach’s New Years Conference, and I just ache to reach out to the nations after hearing testimonies this week from people. This painting just makes me want to… do something! Praise the Lord for your gift.
I love how you did a step-by-step. I am painting an acrylic picture of my brother and me for my mother for Christmas, and you have inspired me to get back to work. I love you, and hope we can get together soon!
~Mary
Hey Mary, thank you for the sweet comments. I can’t wait to see you and Sheffey either. Glad I could give you a little inspiration!
And the date of the art show….? Love this one. You know my mom is a missionary in Kenya and I look forward to the day when you make your prints available….until then we will keep painting scritpures on our walls, but would love to have scripture inspired art on them sometimes….. 🙂
Tina, you crack me up – I love you girl – I’m glad the Lord had our paths cross! The art sale will be coming up soon – hopefully at the end of January/beginning of February. I’m going to hit the road running when I get home to get ready for the sale. I will have prints of this one. It’s my favorite! Yes, I know your Mom’s a missionary in Kenya – this would be a good painting for her (or for you). I’ll let you know when the sale will be as soon as I know :). Thanks for the encouragement Tina!
Sandi,

It’s one of my favorite’s too! I will have a few of these in March.
Sandi,
Thank you so much for painting this! I spent the summer with Beverly and Chris in Yabus and one of the other girls who was with us actually took this picture. The oldest “mama” in the picture on the right hand side is Yipkie and the little boy with her is her grandson, Major. I have MANY MANY pictures if ever you are interested in browsing through them. This painting was a blessing to me! I praise the Lord for this beautiful gift He has given you!!!
With joy,
Jennie

Oh Jennie, thank you so much for visiting the blog and leaving such an informative and sweet comment! I can’t even tell you how much I would LOVE to look through your pictures!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send me some! My e-mail address is sandigrady@comcast.net. I’m working on another Africa painting that I was inspired from a picture Chris and Bev have on their website – from the new video they have on there. It’s the picture of the ladies in the river carrying baskets on their heads. I hope it turns out good – I’ll post it if it does. Thanks agan Jennie!
