The Whistle of God
by sandihester
I will whistle for them and gather them in. Surely I will redeem them…Though I scatter them among the peoples, yet in distant lands they will remember Me. Zechariah 10:8-9 (taken from the NASB & NIV)
This is for my friend Amy who is in Africa. She is wrapping up her time there and will be returning to the states soon. My prayer is that the people there will hear the whistle of God and draw near to Him. We are also praying that as the team leaves to return to the states, that those who know Him will remember Him. Lord, gather them to Yourself – make Your Name great in Africa! Amy sent me several pictures to paint from and this is one I was really drawn to.
amazing verse….amazing painting. i am praying in agreement with you!!
love you so much!
Thank you Susan! I hope Amy likes it too. I’m sure when she sees this painting it will look much different to her – I’m sure she knows the names and faces of these ladies in a much different way. One of the things that’s so neat about doing these paintings is, at some point, getting to hear the story behind the painting – learning their names and what they are like and how she’s ministered to them. I love this verse too – what in the world does the whistle of God sound like??? I’m sure it would either make us tremble or bring us to our knees. Love you too – thank you for always taking the time to leave me such encouraging comments! Hope we see each other this morning!
ahh! Sandi! i love it. this is one of my favorite pictures of my two years here. I love it! THANK YOU
You are more than welcome, Amy. I loved the picture too – thanks for sharing it with me. Keep your eyes on the blog next week – I have another Africa art piece I’ll be posting that is very different from anything I’ve ever done, but I think you’ll like it and you will find some personal things in it. Love you friend and I can’t wait to sit down with you face to face and talk!!!
