Happy Birthday Daddy
by sandihester
He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. Mark 4:39
I painted this for my Dad for his birthday. There have been some stresses with work this year for my Dad, and I wanted to remind him that during the “storms” of life the wind and the waves still know His voice. Happy Birthday Daddy – I love you!!!
Aww, what a thoughtful present to give your father- it is beautiful!
Thank you Jonathan! The photo of this painting didn’t turn out very good at all – the color is much different – it actually has more of a purple hazy tint to it and it’s not near as dark at his photo – I’m not sure why it didn’t turn out like the painting. But my dad did love the painting – but he’s my dad – of course he’s going to like it :). Thanks for stopping by Jonathan!
I so needed this verse. How peaceful it is when we surrender to HIM and HIS voice when the waves of life seem to crash over us. We can “be quiet….be still…and know HE is God”…and HE is in control. Oh how sweet it is to get to know HIM. We can Trust HIM to guide us through the winds and the storms….sailing “with HIM alone”…even when it feels like we are going “against the tide”….HE is there guiding us and helping us as long as we stay close to HIM…letting HIS breeze direct our sails! Beautiful painting!:)What a sweet time of prayer this morning. It was good to see you! Let’s do lunch again soon!
Well, AMEN AND AMEN!!! It was good seeing you this morning too, Christy! Yes, we need to plan a time to get together and catch-up. This week is a little crazy for me and but let’s look at the following week and plan something!
