One Man’s Treasure
by sandihester
The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. Matthew 13:44
“We measure the worth of a hidden treasure by what we will gladly sell to buy it. If we will sell all, then we measure the worth as supreme. If we will not, what we have is treasured more.” – John Piper commenting on the verse above
‘One Man’s Treasure’ is a cute little store in Hendersonville that is now selling my paintings. I’m excited to see how the Lord uses this – it’s certainly out of my comfort zone, but we’ll see what He does with it. I love the name of the store and it makes me think of the verse above. A man actually came into the store one day while I was there and said he came in to find the one man’s treasure. Hmmmm, how interesting. I wonder if he would find my Jesus to be a treasure worth all.
I hope you’ll stop in at One Man’s Treasure – I think you’ll find it worth stopping by. They are having an Open House Tuesday, September 23rd from 10am – 8pm. Their new location is 711 East Main Street, Suite 108 in Hendersonville. They are located in the same building as the Mexican restaurant Casa Vieja. I’ll be there most of the day painting, so stop in and say hi. You’ll also be able to register to win this original watercolor painted by me :).
yay!!! the paintings look so lovely there on the wall!! i am excited for you and pray many, many blessings will go forth with the Word!!
i love you,
susan
Thank you Susan! I always smile when I see your comments – you’re always faithful about leaving me a bit of encouragement. Love you, friend!
Sandi: I love this painting. I’m thrilled that you have your paintings in a shop for the public to see and buy. I have no thought that I will get up there next Tuesday to see you “perform” but it would be wonderful. Your ears may have been burning Thursday night when I was bragging about your lovely paintings and the website to my friend, Mary. She is a longtime friend of mine who took lessons from Gail, also, and told me about her in the first place. She asked me for your email address yesterday so she could enjoy it. I’m thrilled she also will read all your thoughts. I also love the picture you did for your Dad’s birthday. It is so quiet and peaceful. You fully captured that feeling for your dad. I l miss you!
Love you. M.
Marge, I always love hearing from you. You are always so kind to me. I miss you too, friend! I wish we were on the same side of town :). I remember you telling me about your friend Mary. When I thought I was going to be taking Gail’s class at Plaza I was looking forward to meeting Mary. I miss being in a class – it’s always so much fun. E-mail me and let me know how things are going – are you still taking classes? Are you still keeping your grandchildren a lot? Have you been able to paint much? Love you and miss you too Marge!
Sandi,
okay.. I want this one too:) mitz
Mitzi, you are cracking me up – you’ve got to get a hold of yourself :). You’ll have to come register for it if you want it.
Sandi,
I am so excited that you have found a way for us to see your paintings anytime we want to….I know God will bless this new venture as well as he blesses us with your gift.
I hope to get to One Man’s Treaure Tuesday night between work and Bible study. If not, I’ll be there sometime this week to see your beautiful paintings.

Sandy, I loved seeing your paintings at the store today. I really loved the Christmas one you are working on. Wouldn’t it be a neat Christmas card? I like the idea of using it as a devotion with your family at Christmas. I can’t wait to see it when it’s done! Blessings to you! Joy 🙂
Thank you for stopping by Joy! Thank you for the kind comments too! I’ll add you to my e-mail lists.
I love your work! I can’t wait until you have another sale.
Susan
Thank you Susan! I’ll be having another one soon – I’m thinking middle of November or beginning of December. I’m trying to work it in around my school schedule – trying not to have it the week I have 3 papers due :). I’ll send out a “save the date” as soon as I decide on the date.
