God Sends The Rain
by sandihester
He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. Matthew 5:45
It was like a monsoon this weekend! Grady was on a fishing trip all weekend so I was home alone during the soggy weekend. I did a little painting here and there in between working on the house. I did another painting for Different Strokes (a blog that posts one picture and artists paint their version of that photo) this weekend. It seemed appropriate to do a wet scene with all the rain this weekend. I did two versions and posted the first one on the site. Grady had a great time on his fishing trip. I was so thankful they didn’t get all the rain we did – they had great fishing weather. I know this is a painting blog but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to brag on my husband – check out one of the whopper fish he caught :).
Go Grady!
Funny how color can really change the feeling of a painting. Your first one is a really gray day and the 2nd one is a fresh warm summer shower. I like them both.
Good point – I had not looked at those paintings like that, but I see it now Maria! Thanks!
I really like both of these paintings. Watercolor is a passion of mine and I almost did this challenge in that.
It was a soggy, rainy day here and that came through in my painting of this.
Thank you Peggy! You did a great job on your painting as well!
Both of these are very good! The vivid color is wonderful in the first and I like what you did with the composition in the one you submitted. It feels more balanced and the extra greenery really softens the scene. Great job on both!
Thank you Gwen!
Great work! Two paintings, wow. and both really good.
(and nice fish! lol 🙂 )
Thank you Liz! I checked your blog out too and it’s great! Thanks for stopping by!
I really like your New York scenes. Here you have done two and I haven’t painted mine yet, I guess I’d better get busy.
Thank you Jan! The only reason I got two done is because my husband was out of town for 4 days on a fishing trip. Plus I had never done a wet street scene and was playing around with that. Can’t wait to see yours!
Heck of a fish. They always say behind every successful fisherman there is an even more successful fishing buddy. Thanks for letting him wet a line with me.
Clay is that you? He had a great time – I’m glad he was able to go with you guys!
