My Blogging Has Gone To The Birds
by sandihester
Hey, it’s me – I’m back – sort of! I kind of forgot how to do this. I just sat and stared at the screen trying to remember what I even click on to start a new post. As most of you know, we’ve been building a house and it has totally consumed all my time and creative energy. We are finally in our new house and LOVING it out in the country. I have been sketching here and there over the last year or so. For some reason I’ve been sketching birds a lot. So over the next couple of posts I’ll share some of my bird sketches. I would like your feed back on how I post my sketches. Would you rather see the whole page in its sketchbook form like this…
Or cleaned up and cropped like this…
Here’s another example of sketch book view or cropped. The last picture is cropped because the bird’s body was wonky but I liked his little face. Maybe next time I’ll write something worth reading. Sorry – I’m a little rusty.
Hi Sandi! So glad you’re back 🙂
I’m torn about the images; I like the “natural” look of the whole page but I can see more detail with the cropped images. Either way, you are truly talented and gifted by God!
Thanks Susan! That’s exactly how I feel – that’s why I was wanting some feedback.
I agree with Susan! It’s good to see you on here again! You have such talent!
Thank you Gail!
Sandi!! I was just thinking of you the other day. Glad you are in your new home. I would personally rather see the entire page of your journal. To me, it’s just a little more personal. But I’m good either way! I’ve missed seeing you on here.
Hey Sheri! Thanks for giving me your opinion – so far you’re the only one who’s told me which one they like best. I agree with you – and it makes it easier for posting – I don’t have to crop and do all that other stuff. Good to hear from you!
Hi Sheri,
I am glad to hear you are in your new home and loving it! I like the journal page the best.. the black border just makes your work stand out against it.. but I love them all!
Thank you!
Love the birds! (love love love them!). I like the cropped images. They are clean and the focus is very much on the painting.
Love you, Robyn
Hey friend! I was thinking of you just the other day. I sure miss you! I would love to catch up with you sometime. Let me know if you’re out this way – I would love for you to come visit. We just built a house out in the country on 22 acres – it’s so beautiful and peaceful out here. Hope you are doing good. You still running your own business? Thanks for your thoughts on the paintings.
Good day Sandi,
I was viewing another watercolor artist Susan and she has your site link on her page so this is how i connected to your blog site. Susan and her husband lost their son, only 24 in Guam in 2005, very sad, but through her art she is healing and she is working on a masters in art therapy, great idea, I know the healing power of art.
Your art journals are like the ancinet scribes, ink or in your case watercolor to paper, very spiritual, and your new blog on birds is great. I am a wildlife artist spending many hours painting birds, especially ducks, so this is a good area to work in. If you remember God created all the birds before he created man, and woman, remember in Genesis?
Have a great day, your family is the very best, I too am a fisherman of sorts, and love the water. Take care and God Bless. My website is wwwjimspringett.com, you might enjoy.
